2016 Leadership Class Announces Their Youth Project

The 2016 Leadership McPherson Class reception was Friday, February 19th. During the celebration, the Leadership McPherson Class of 2016 announced their class project: “By May of 2016 we will open a Clothes Closet to benefit all of the students at McPherson High School to be ran by a student group.”

This is where they need YOUR help! If you have a business or know of a business that has clothing racks or shelving that could be used to set up donations and display inventory like a store, they would greatly appreciate these items. If you have gently used clothing you would like to donate – clean, without stains or holes – appropriate for high school age students, items such as jeans, sweatpants, sweatshirts, good quality shoes. fashionable shirts, coats and accessories – scarves, jewelry, etc. they would be happy to take it. If you are a business that sells clothing & have had items on the clearance rack that you are ready to move out of the store, they would love donations of new clothing items! They plan to have a McPherson rack with any type of McPherson or Bullpup apparel, so those t-shirts & sweatshirts taking up space on your clearance racks, or in your personal closets would be put to great use. If you would simply like to make a monetary donation, they will also be purchasing new underwear, bras & socks. Along with the clothing aspect, they plan to include hygiene products such as shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant and feminine products.

Your help is greatly appreciated! If you have questions, would like more information, or have donations, contact Alesia Stout at the Chamber, 241-3303 or 480-9220.

Congratulations 2016 Leadership McPherson Class!
