Member Spotlight- McPherson College Athletics
McPherson College rolled out the red carpet for the Chamber Connections as they showcased McPherson College Athletics and the Sports Center. We were greeted with a 100- watt smile and handshake from Lionel (student from the Democratic Republic of Congo), enjoyed special “bulldog cookies,” visited with friendly staff, coaches and students, then received the grand tour of the sports center. Andrew Ehling, athletic director at McPherson College told about the successful sports programs at McPherson College as well boasting about the 3.1 average GPA of their 400 student athletes. He encouraged everyone to attend the McPherson College events and support their talented athletes.

• Women’s Tennis- 4th straight KCAC regular season and tournament titles
• Men’s Tennis- KCAC regular season champions & 3rd consecutive KCAC tournament title
• Volleyball, Softball and Baseball -Single season wins record
• 400+ hours of community service
• 64 MC student-athletes received All-KCAC honors
• 51 student athletes graduated with a cumulative 3.06 GPA
• 27 MC Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes
• 15 Bulldog programs earn NAIA Scholar Team Status
• 5 All-Americans
If you have cheered on the home team at any of the football games, you have enjoyed the fantastic and newly upgraded stadium. These upgrades are funded by McPherson College and supported by USD #418 as a lease partner. The stadium upgrades have included a new artificial field, lights, bleachers, ADA compliant ramps, improved sidewalks, restrooms and a new track surface. The final phase included new locker rooms and ticket booth. And now, McPherson College is concentrating on Bulldog Park, their new softball and baseball complex being constructed along Centennial Street next to the dog park. Mark your calendar and plan to attend the first baseball home game on Friday, February 9th, 2018 and softball team home opener on Saturday, February 24th!
