Do you suffer from “procaffeination” (noun) the tendency to not start anything until you’ve had a cup of coffee? No worries, Heartbeat Coffee at 1211 S. Main can help.

Although Heartbeat Coffee has already become a part of your favorite morning routine, we celebrated with an official ribbon cutting and Chamber Connections on Thursday, June 7th.  The sun decided to shine and everyone was caffeinated, so it was a great morning and a fantastic crowd. Emilie Rains, Chamber ambassador said she is a big fan of Heartbeat Coffee and raved about the lattes! Chamber president, Brad Mears admitted that he works with a lot of coffee connoisseurs and that they are all excited about Heartbeat Coffee as well. Mayor Tom Brown congratulated manager Tara Kemp on the success of Heartbeat Coffee and complimented Central Christian College on their other business ventures that allows students to graduate with little or no debt. Tara said this initiative gives Heartbeat Coffee a great pool of employees to choose from while also teaching the students customer service skills that will be valuable in their future work environments.

Heartbeat Coffee manager, Tara Kemp, graduated with a business management degree from Central Christian College and was hired by Dean Kroeker and Hal Hoxie to create a coffee shop. Tara said she worked through the process of creating a plan, filling out permits and loan papers and overseeing the remodel project. All the hard work came to fruition when Heartbeat Coffee opened November 20th or 2017. If you are not a big fan of coffee, espresso and lattes (I can’t relate!) but seriously Heartbeat Coffee also has tea, smoothies, breakfast burritos, pastries and more. Call Heartbeat Coffee at 316-323-7464 to prepare coffee & treats for your next small business meeting or get together. You can also call them to have your favorite latte ready, with texting options coming soon! Looking for more “perks?” Heartbeat Coffee also has a reward system, (no punch card needed) where they can track your points by your phone number. And, a really cool feature at Heartbeat Coffee is being able to find out what your friend or co-worker’s favorite flavor is, so you can get them a treat too.

Why Heartbeat? According to Tara, they had a contest to gather name suggestions, but the word heartbeat actually materialized from a book that she was reading. Heartbeat referring to quick and consistent, and that is what you will get at Heartbeat Coffee. Enjoy this specialty coffee drive-through Monday -Friday from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m.-noon. They will have your drinks ready in a Heartbeat! Connect with them on Facebook and see photos of the ribbon cutting here.
