Volunteer Committees

Ag Related

To organize events that encourage continued success and growth of agriculture in McPherson. Events include: Rural Appreciation, Farm Forum, When Pigs Fly In & BBQ Contest, and Agriculture Future of America Scholarships. Meets 2nd Tuesday at 7:00 a.m. @ Perkins, 2111 E Kansas.

BAM! (Business and Membership)

To provide information, networking opportunities, and services for members. Events include, but not limited to: educational lunch seminars, Veteran’s Day Lunch, Chamber Weekly Coffees, Legislative Coffees, organize candidate forums for city, county and school board elections. Meets 4th Wednesday at noon @ the Chamber.

Community Development

To address issues & concerns of the community and maintaining quality of life.  Promotes the distribution of  weatherization kits.  Meets the 2nd Tuesday at noon @ the Chamber.

Men’s Trip

To organize and conduct annual trip for men to a major city which offers the opportunity to network while touring various corporations. The committee also recognizes a “Traveling Ambassador”. Event: Annual trip. Meeting times vary.

Tartan Turkey Golf Tournament (chaired by immediate past president)

To organize and conduct the only McPherson Chamber fund raiser, the annual golf tournament. Meets the 4th Tuesday at noon @ the Chamber.

Women’s Event

To organize trips and events that provide personal growth for womenaof the Chamber and community.  Events include: annual trip and mentoring events for young women. Meets the 3rd Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. @ the Chamber.

Young Professionals Making Active Connections (YPMAC)

YPMAC is committed to building connections that benefits its members, businesses and McPherson County. The organization’s goal is to develop the young professional population of McPherson County residens ages 21 to 40ish by:

  • Developing the next generation of leaders
  • Improving the quality of life for young professionals
  • Providing a voice for young professionals
  • Building community attachment and pride

 Meets the first Tuesday at 4pm @ the Chamber.

Appointed Committees

Ambassador’s Club

To serve as the public relations committee of the Chamber. The committee is responsible for attending Chamber coffees, ribbon cuttings, Chamber After Hours, and Chamber events, emceeing ribbon cuttings, visiting other chamber members and other duties assigned by the board.

Chamber Board/Executive Board

Members of the board are selected from the Chamber’s active and in good standing membership roster and have demonstrated support of the Chamber through membership and involvement.

Leadership Board of Trustees

To organize a leadership program that provides leadership skills and capacities with emphasis on civic engagement and leadership.  Event: Leadership Programming, Leadership Alumni quarterly lunches and speakers.

Past President’s

Members of this committee have served as president of the Chamber and have completed their term as past president. Responsibility: to select a “President’s Award” recipient to be recognized at the Chamber Annual Dinner and serve as a resource/council for special projects.
