For 65 years, Stanion Wholesale Electric Company has been growing its business while maintaining the family atmosphere that has become a hallmark of the company. Founded in 1961 by Bobbe and Jud Stanion in Pratt, Kansas, the family-owned business is now in its third generation. Cameron Reimer, Vice President of Sales, has been with Stanion for 28 years and shared the company’s story, saying, “We’re a family-owned company founded in 1961, based out of Pratt, Kansas – so a town smaller than this and that’s where our corporate office still remains. Over the years, we’ve grown to 17 locations, 16 of them are in Kansas, and one’s just on the other side of the border in Liberty, Missouri.” Stanion has been part of the McPherson community since 1986, with its local location at 811 N. Hickory.

The company’s long history is reflected in the dedication of its employees. Jay Pavlik, Branch Manager at the McPherson location, recently celebrated an impressive 40 years with Stanion Wholesale Electric. When asked what has kept him with the company for four decades, Jay pointed to the people and the culture, saying, “It’s the family atmosphere. The owners have always treated every employee like family. It’s a very family-oriented company.” Stanion serves a wide range of customers, including electrical contractors, institutions, colleges, hospitals, cities and industrial customers. Reimer explained, “Our company – we’re just what we say we are. We’re a wholesale electrical company, so we sell electrical products.” He added that the company provides much more than the lights and tools customers may immediately think of, supplying products “above the ceiling, behind the walls, underground, up the poles,” including poles and cabling.

Today, Stanion Wholesale Electric continues to offer an extensive selection of products and specialized services to meet the needs of its customers and the communities it serves. Its offerings include hand tools, impact wrenches, band saws, heat guns, rapid battery chargers, polisher/sander kits and modular storage systems, along with seasonal items such as heated vests and hoodies. Stanion also has specialists in areas including clean energy, solar and battery storage; DataCom, which provides structured cabling, fire alarm, security and audio-visual systems; and lighting, including lighting layout design and product options for businesses. As Stanion celebrates 65 years in business, the company is also celebrating the employees, customers and communities that have been part of its journey. With its family-owned roots, statewide presence and continued commitment to service, Stanion Wholesale Electric remains “family-owned and 65 years strong.” Visit Stanion Wholesale Electric’s website at stanion.com to learn more about all the products and services that they provide.
