Volunteer for Hospice Patients
If you have a passion for serving other, we’re excited to share a one-of-a-kind opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people who need it most. Hospice volunteers are a vital part of our care teams, showing up in the lives and hearts of our patients and their families to help them make the most of every moment.
You may be asking: what do hospice volunteers do? Well, what do you like to do when you visit a friend? A lot of our patients just need companionship, and when you show up for a visit, you might be the brightest spot in their week! Some people need help with tasks around the house, or errands. And others prefer to work behind the scenes, helping our team with paperwork or organization. Rest assured, if you’re good at something, we’ll probably ask for your help. Here’s a few examples of how hospice volunteers can help:
– Read a good story or ask someone to share theirs
– Turn your visit into a singalong
– Help shrink to-do lists by running errands
– Play cards or break out a boardgame or puzzle
– Cook or bake something
– Show off your green thumb
– Turn paperwork into a passion through administrative support
– Hold a hand and listen
We’re always looking for great people to join our volunteer team. You might be a student, or retired, or even a veteran looking to serve other veterans. Wherever you are in life, chances are you’ll bring something special to the volunteering experience!
