Johns Manville to Celebrate 40 Years in McPherson
The McPherson Johns Manville facility is celebrating 40 years in McPherson with a rededication ceremony scheduled for Friday, October 10th at 10:00 a.m., 1465 N. 17th Avenue.
Johns Manville became a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway in 2001 and its global headquarters is located in Denver.
Recently the fiber glass building insulation transitioned to a bio-based binder, which was a change for the McPherson facility. A binder is the “glue” that holds together the glass fibers and helps produce the batts and rolls also maintaining their shape.
Johns Manville’s direct economic impact on the McPherson community is substantial; employing over 270 employees, supporting the community through donations and participating in local activities.
