Member Spotlight- Home State Bank

Deeply rooted in the downtown area is a financial institution that has not only been a part of McPherson for over a century, but is well ingrained in its history. Since Home State Bank opened its doors in 1903, it has been a very active part of the McPherson community. Joining the Citizens State Bank family in 2011, Home State Bank continues to serve McPherson with its four branches: the Auto Bank at Euclid & Maple; the East Bank at 104 S. Centennial, the North Bank at 1300 N. Main, and the Main Bank at 233 N. Main.  Market President, Brad Bengtson and the forty dependable, caring staff of Home State Bank are ready and dedicated to help you succeed in your finances and future with home loans, checking accounts, ag services, wealth management and more.

Home State Bank is very involved with a number of local community projects. A very popular one this time of year is the Annual Community Carol Along, which had been held in the bank’s lobby until it became so well attended that it was moved to the McPherson Opera House. The Mitten Tree is another project the bank supports, which benefits children in McPherson County who might be in need of hats, scarves, and gloves during the winter season.

A very special undertaking by Home State Bank is the Giving Hope Cancer Fund that they established through the McPherson County Community Foundation. This fund goes toward assisting cancer patients in McPherson County. Donations to the Giving Hope Cancer Fund go to help with expenses such as gas, medical bills, prosthetics, wigs, and other needs that a cancer patient might have. Since September 2011 over $10,000 in grants have been given to cancer patients in the McPherson area.  To learn more about Home State Bank, their hours, and services visit their website www.hsbt.com, or check them out on Facebook!  See photos from the Chamber Connections here.
