Member Spotlight- All Schools Day Committee

Thank you to all the dedicated people who put in time and effort to create a remarkable community event. The All Schools Day Committee works tirelessly to organize this exciting week of events for all to enjoy. It takes generous sponsors, the support of the entire County, and many volunteers to bring together all the details and activities. 2018 ASD Chair, Desiree Bickel said the “amazing” committee members, “work seamlessly behind the scenes” each year to make All Schools Day a success. “It’s a wonderful time together as a community and there are a ton of activities.”

The Chamber Connection crowd had special treats at the McPherson Museum where we pre-partied with cotton candy and funnel cakes, viewed the cool ASD temporary exhibit and listened to the humble speech by “Uncle Sam”. Doyle Davidson, who has portrayed Uncle Sam in the All Schools Day parade for 50 years, said “it’s been an honor to do this and represent our Country.”

Hopefully you all joined in the week-long festivities and are making plans for next year- mark your calendar for May 11th, 2019! If you did not get to watch the parade, you can view it on the McPherson Radio YouTube video. Check out lots of great photos on McPherson News Facebook album.  Or find out about the history of All Schools Day, button hunt clues, parade results and more at www.allschoolsday.com and connect with them on Facebook here.  See photos from the Chamber Connections.
