Always a learning opportunity at the Chamber coffee’s. We discovered that Hutchinson Community College literally has something for everyone. HCC offers course studies for high school students interested in getting a head start on their college classes or for those taking advantage of the career and technical programs available because of Senate Bill 155. If you haven’t heard, Senate Bill 155 is an incentive where high school students can receive tuition reimbursement for certain programs and receive industry-recognized certifications that can result in high-demand occupations in Kansas. The McPherson Campus also offers lessons to increase basic skills, a GED Test and classes for those who are underprepared for college.

Hutchinson Community College has non-credit classes which are great for the emptynester, retired individual or anyone that just enjoys learning new things and exploring different interests. A win-win for local businesses and industries is the customized business and industry training available to those wanting to enhance their workforce. Hutchinson Community College has many general education classes and degree programs for those wanting to pursue an associate’s degree in numerous specialized fields. One of the newer ones is the Fire Science Academy, a joint venture with McPherson Fire Department. Of course, HCC-McPherson campus is also known for their LPN program. Want to become a nurse? Full time and part time enrollment options are available at HCC-McPherson Campus and the practical nursing program is one of only two programs accredited in the state.

HCC Classes are offered at the McPherson campus, 2208 N. Main and at various high schools. The main campus is located at 1300 N. Plum in Hutchinson and other sites include Fort Riley and Newton.
