The “perfect time”.. the “opportune moment” is the translation of the Greek word Kairos and why Stephen and Marlene Gray named their business Kairos Wholesale. Kairos Wholesale was launched in 2013 by Stephen and Marlene Gray when they lived in Arizona. They started out as an online vendor, selling products through Amazon, eBay and local markets. Since then, the Grays returned to McPherson moving the Kairos Wholesale business and opening a retail store called Simply Good Overstocks at 301 S. Main. With the success of Simply Good Overstocks in McPherson, they have opened 3 more retail stores to provide quality discount items to smaller communities. This year, the Grays had the opportunity to move Kairos Wholesale to 1337 W. Kansas in McPherson and have quickly reached capacity. Pallets of inventory fill the warehouse, but it is an ever-changing puzzle as semi-trucks are unloaded, then inventory is shipped out to various retailers including their Simply Good Overstocks stores. Kairos Wholesale contracts with Amazon to liquidate 5 of their facilities as well as contracting with Target, True Value, Home Depot, Vista Outdoor and other well-known companies.
Kairos Wholesale is a family owned and operated business where you will not only see Stephen and Marlene, but their daughter, brother-in-law and son, not to mention the little cutie that helps keep the office in smiles. Stephen said they employ 30-35 among the Kairos Wholesale and Simply Good Overstocks locations.
