Member Spotlight – McPherson’s 150th Celebration
This year is the 150th Birthday of the City of McPherson! A year of celebration is in store for the community! Joni Regnier, director of the McPherson Convention & Visitors Bureau, gave an update on the schedule of events observing McPherson’s birthday. A Progressive Dinner is planned for February 28th, with stops at the McPherson Museum, the McPherson Community Building, and the McPherson Opera House. Delicious food and great entertainment are planned for each venue! During Memorial Day Weekend, the contents from time capsules dating back to 1972 and 1976 will be unveiled along with a cake to celebrate the occasion! A summer concert has been planned. Be sure to watch for updates on that! And to cap off the year of celebrating, McPherson will have a family picnic and festivities sometime in September. It will be lots of fun for the whole family!
Be sure to check either the Visit McPherson OR the McPherson 150 Facebook page for more information and updates on all of these 150th Birthday Celebration events. You can also purchase McPherson 150th Celebration memorabilia, like a MACopoly game, a 150th commemorative coin, or a May basket ornament handcrafted by artists at The Clayworks at the McPherson CVB, 1111 E.
