Member Spotlight – MPNaz (A Church of the Nazarene)
Member Spotlight posted 04.25.2022
MPNaz is a local church in McPherson affiliated with the Nazarene’s. MPNaz realizes that all come from different walks of life. Some come from broken homes, while others, come from the best homes you can imagine. No matter where you are from or who you are, we know that we all face struggles and have hard times. The goal of MPNaz is to show you God’s love as you find it for yourself.
MPNaz is a church that has big plans for the community. Pastors Jeff & Danielle Black have hit the ground running since moving to McPherson in October of 2016. “We pay for the church 24/7, so we figured we are going to use it 24/7.” Since coming to McPherson, the church has started a life-recovery addiction support group, created a community pantry box, and a teen center. Since COVID-19, the teen center has not been up and running. MPNaz is looking forward to getting that started up once again. Their goal is to give teens (6th-12th grade) a safe space to spend their time having fun, dream, and learn. MPNaz is looking for volunteers to help out during Friday and Saturday night hangouts. To learn more about the Community Teen Center, go to their website. MPNaz is setting up a community fridge and pantry outside their church building. The pantry will be temperature controlled so no more freezing green beans. The temp-controlled fridge and pantry will also allow for healthier options. MPNaz is looking for sponsors. Sponsor duties will be to check and make sure the fridge and pantry are working properly during the week and to clean and organize as needed. To volunteer, contact MPNaz at 620-241-2675. Also, check out the Facebook page created for the pantry.
MPNaz has many ministries to get involved with: addiction support group, teen center, food pantry, and even axe throwing. To learn more about MPNaz, follow them on Facebook, or go to their church website. MPNaz meets every Sunday for breakfast at 10:15 a.m. and for worship at 10:45 a.m. Check out these great photos from the chamber connection hosted by MPNaz.
