Member Spotlight – PEM

Located at 2475 Northview Road in McPherson, Kansas, Plastics Extrusion Machinery LLC (PEM) has been a staple in the plastic extrusion industry since its inception in 1978. Under the ownership of Nathan Spearman since 2017, PEM has continued to grow and innovate, especially after moving into its current facility in 2021. The company specializes in developing downstream equipment for the PVC and plastic profile industries, playing a crucial behind-the-scenes role in supporting manufacturers across the globe.

“We actually make all the downstream equipment for PVC manufacturers,” said owner Nathan Spearman. “We don’t even make pipe—we’re serving the industry that does. And we want that purpose reflected in everything we do.”

One of the most striking design elements at PEM is its use of circular motifs throughout the facility—from floor decals to pipe-inspired art installations on the walls. “You’ll see a lot of circles,” Spearman added. “It’s to remind people of why we’re here. It’s the pipe.”

PEM’s commitment goes far beyond equipment manufacturing. Found prominently posted in the breakroom is the company’s Core Purpose: to serve humanity locally and globally. True to this mission, PEM has partnered with Water4Haiti, a Christ-centered ministry that provides clean water resources to communities in need. This partnership is a reflection of PEM’s values and its intent to make a positive impact on the world.
