The Outstanding McPherson area Eighth Grade Award (OMEGA) is a long-standing tradition that coincides with the origin of All Schools Day, to recognize 8th grade students. Each year the McPherson Chamber of Commerce honors 8th grade students from McPherson County for their courage, compassion, and service.
Help us celebrate inspirational 8th graders who are making a powerful and lasting impact on all those around them, by nominating them for the OMEGA award. Let’s face it, the pandemic has added new challenges, but it has also been a time of resilience and opportunities for everyone to shine through adversity. We want to know about the 8th grade student who shows compassion to peers in challenging situations or has courageously overcome struggles to help others. The young leaders in your neighborhood who pitch in to help, and the volunteer who graciously shares time and talents to help an organization. Send us your nomination of the 8th grader who is taking the initiative to make positive changes, or the role model who is leading by example.
To nominate a McPherson County 8th grade student who is making a difference by their attitude and actions, please fill out and submit the OMEGA form by April 19th. Forms are available here or can be picked up at the office, 306 N. Main in McPherson.
