Ag Committee presents AFA Scholarships
The McPherson Chamber of Commerce Ag Committee partners with AFA to award Scholarships to McPherson County graduating high school seniors pursuing a four-year degree in an agriculture related field. Congratulations to this year’s AFA Scholarship winners Michael McKinney and Makaela Hedberg! AFA Community Scholars are awarded a $3,200 academic scholarship and sponsorship to the AFA Leaders Conference.
The McPherson Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee has been committed to keeping the education of agriculture in the forefront, hosting several events to raise money for these scholarships as well as partnering on several educational initiatives. The McPherson Chamber Agriculture Committee hosts: Rural Appreciation Hamburger Feed in cooperation with the 4-H Fair; Farm Forum; When Pigs Fly Event and Ag in the Classroom, a partnership with the K-State Extension & Research.
