Hawkinson Named Executive Director
The McPherson Chamber of Commerce Board is pleased to announce Debbie Hawkinson has been named Executive Director of the McPherson Chamber as of October 14th, 2019. The board looks forward to working with Hawkinson to create a new vision for the Chamber.
Hawkinson will partner with the board of directors to develop and implement new initiatives, in-line with the evolving expectations of prosperous communities. She will also maintain goals established by the organization. Hawkinson said she “embraces change and collaboration to offer new and innovative ways to add value to members, and looks forward to making our unique and thriving community even more recognizable and prosperous.”
Debbie Hawkinson and her husband Jon have been married for 28 years and are the parents of two adult children, Rebecca and Kody. Debbie enjoys camping, fishing, hiking, kayaking and whatever she can do outside. She is also an avid reader, relishes her time with family and friends, and loves to explore new places.
Hawkinson has gathered invaluable insight as she worked for over 12 years alongside Jennifer Burch, who retired in September. Hawkinson brings enthusiasm to her new position and a passion for making a difference, commenting that she “loves working for the McPherson Chamber and the opportunity to help businesses thrive, promote organizations, and connect people with what our members and community have to offer.”
