Floor Assistant Job Description

Provides superior customer care and a positive experience for all customers, donors, and other volunteers as they enter to shop, browse, and purchase items.

Tasks/Responsibilities

·         Greet all customers who need assistance in a friendly manner and offer assistance. If you can’t help, find someone (i.e. floor assistant or manager) who can help.

·         Be willing to help out anywhere on the showroom floor as needed

·         If slow, stock items that have been priced

·         Make sure all customers are attended to, ask if they need help, and assist as needed

·         Answer the phone if the customer service desk is busy and you are available, give a greeting, business name, and your name

Time Commitment

A minimum of 2 hours weekly

Skill Requirements

·         Be flexible as there are sometimes many different jobs to get done

·         Excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude towards all

·         Excellent interpersonal skills, including tact, understanding, and inclusiveness for all people

·         Ability to work quickly and accurately when multiple tasks are at hand

Supervision and Training

The Store Manager will provide training for this position and will be available for any questions needed during shift.

The proceeds go to others in need locally & globally. Volunteers are needed when store is open in receiving, cashiering, & helping customers, also to process items when store is closed.
