Receiving Job Description
Receive products from donors and move through pricing, tagging, stocking areas as needed to keep usable merchandise available for ReUse It Center to sell to those who have need in McPherson County.
Tasks/Responsibilities
· Greet all customers as they enter and receive their donations
· Decide if the merchandise is acceptable and worthy to keep
· If item is not acceptable, explain a better source for the items and how the customer can get it there
· If advisable to accept donation even though ReUse It Center will not handle it, take it to the landfill container or dispose in trash
Time Commitment
A minimum of 2 hours weekly
Skill Requirements
· Excellent interpersonal skills, including tact, understand and inclusiveness for all people
· Have the ability to do heavy lifting
· Be available to load up customers purchases as needed in a friendly manner
Supervision and Training
The Assistant Manager or a volunteer in receiving will provide orientation/training for this position and will be available for any questions.

Believing that God calls us to serve others & save resources, the Center collects new & used building materials & sells them at reasonable prices to the public. The proceeds go to others in need locally & globally. Volunteers are needed when store is open in receiving, cashiering, & helping customers, also to process items when store is closed.
