Member Spotlight – Advanced Physical Therapy

Are you feeling trapped and frustrated with pain? Advanced Physical Therapy (APT) offers many services to help their clients get back on track to feeling better. Their team consists of three PTA’s, three DPT’s, two part-time tech’s, and a Care Coordinator. They will assess your needs and determine what techniques best suits you in your rehab. There are 25 APT Clinics in Kansas, with a new clinic opening in the Kansas City area.

One technique that is new to APT is Blood Flow Restriction. This technique started in the U.S. in 2011 on the West Coast. It was first used in with the military to help injured soldiers recover from the injuries sustained in the Middle East wars. Currently, many medical professionals are helping their patients and athletes prepare for surgery, minimize disuse atrophy, increase aerobic capacity, increase muscle strength and size using blood flow restriction.

Advanced Physical Therapy also offers injury checks and rehab for college athletes on-campus, and LSVT Big for Parkinson Disease. Pre-Employment Screens: They use WorkSTEPS and PCP (Performance Capacity Profile) Test. These are functional assessments to measure human strength and performance and appropriately match them to the physical demands of the job. This has proven to reduce work-related injuries by an average of 50%.

More services offered at the McPherson Clinic are: Astym, Aquatic Therapy, Concussion/Vestibular Therapy, Dry Needling, Orthopedic Rehab, Parkinson’s Therapy, Unweighting Technologies, and Blood Flow Restriction. Infants and toddlers that are having gait issues can be treated at APT.

All insurances are accepted, they offer payment plans for a client who have higher insurance deductibles, they can set up cash pay packages. APT hours of operation are Monday thru Friday 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. to make it convenient for those who work the normal 8-5 job.
