Member Spotlight- BowerComm

BowerComm, a strategic communications consultancy located at 210 E. 30th Street in Hutchinson, helps mission-driven organizations, businesses, and nonprofits replace scattered marketing efforts with focused communication strategies that produce measurable results. The company offers communications planning, coaching, website development, branding, advertising, and video production, all designed to help clients build consistent marketing systems. “There are really two pieces to our business,” said Lori Bower, president of BowerComm. “One is communications planning and coaching, and the other part is implementing or activating those plans.”
Through programs including the Strategic Plan Navigator, Journey to Yes™, Awareness Engine, and Accelerator coaching program, BowerComm provides clients with practical tools and accountability to execute their communications effectively.
BowerComm has partnered with organizations throughout Kansas to develop strategic messaging and outreach campaigns. One example is Level Up Kansas, a statewide initiative connecting under-skilled adults with community and technical college programs. “Level Up Kansas is a program we set up from the ground up,” Bower said. “People come in saying, ‘Hey, I’m interested in learning more about a program.’ They get hooked up with a navigator that helps them sort through the programs and then connects them into the schools that they’re interested in.” BowerComm has also supported organizations including Go McPherson by creating its Living Guide, helped rebrand the Cat House to clearly communicate its mission as a cat-focused shelter, and worked with McPherson Marion Childcare Connection to connect families with quality childcare resources.
At a recent Chamber Connections coffee, attendees learned how BowerComm helps clients create repeatable marketing systems instead of relying on one-time promotional efforts. Bower illustrated the concept with the example of a restaurant client that consistently posts its weekly menu every Sunday evening. “They do a really simple and good job of posting their menu every week on Sunday night, and I know where to go to find that,” she said. “So that’s just a repeatable play. Every week we do this. Every week we do that. Now the drive-through line at one of my favorite restaurants is so long.” She summed up the company’s philosophy by emphasizing, “Clear goal, clear audience, clear message, repeatable rhythm. You don’t need more random acts. You need a system.” BowerComm’s mission is to help organizations reach the right people with the right message at the right time through intentional, strategic communications.
