Member Spotlight – Dairy Queen
We filled up the Dairy Queen during the Chamber Ribbon Cutting and Chamber Connections. Many attendees had thoughtful stories and huge compliments about the hometown family atmosphere and the extremely friendly owners Al and Etaf Awar.
Al graduated from American University of Science and Technology in Beirut, Lebanon and Etaf graduated from McPherson College with her Bachelors, and Wichita State University with her MBA. Before DQ, Al was a General Manager of Taco Bell for over 7 years.
Since Al and Etaf became the new owners in February, Dairy Queen has thrived. A few things that they wanted to do was make sure they had a great staff which they have definitely accomplished. Another area was to remodel the store. They began on the outside by painting and adding new landscaping. They also updated several things inside the store and plan to continue to make upgrades.
At the Ribbon Cutting last Thursday, Al and Etaf shared their commitment to the community by donating to three different organizations in McPherson; McPherson County Community Foundation, The Omega Project, and STEPMC.
