Member Spotlight – Graber’s Ace Hardware
Are you looking for some home décor to add some pop to the living spaces in your home OR are you doing a project at home and you REALLY need a new power drill to make it happen? Guess what!?! Graber’s Ace Hardware is the place! And as heard at Chamber Connections … “If they don’t have it, you probably don’t need it!”
Owner Scott Graber shared a bit of the store’s backstory at Chamber Connections. Graber’s Ace Hardware was started back in 1926 by Scott’s grandfather. During that time Scott said his grandfather went broke a couple of times due to the Depression and the war, but persevered. Scott’s father took over the helm next and the business continued. Then Scott and his brothers got involved with the business. Now Scott’s boys have ended up at Graber’s. And here we are today … four generations of serving the McPherson community! Scott said, “We’re a Main Street business. Always have been.”
Nancy LaProd-Rowell, Sales Account Manager at Graber’s shared some of the services they offer. Besides the fabulous gift shop at the front of the store, Nancy said, “We’re really your traditional hardware store – plumbing, electrical, tools to lawn and garden. We also offer business-to-business. So if there are things your business needs, we want to be there to help … we do offer delivery services as well … Whatever we can do to make your lives easier at your businesses, that’s what we want to do.”
In addition to the “traditional” hardware side of the business, and the fantastic gift shop part of the store, you’ll find a section dedicated to outdoor grills! (Quick side note: If you haven’t been into the gift shop, you’ve really got to check it out! WOW!) Back to grills … what an amazing selection they have! Not only grills, BUT Graber’s also has the accessories, including seasoning and spices, to make your grilling experience unforgettable. And according to Scott, “It doesn’t have to be 80 and sunny to cook out! You can cook out ANY time of the year!”
You’ll find video tutorials on the Graber’s Ace Hardware website. Go to The Paint Studio tab to find lots of tips on selecting paints, stains, primers, getting the right painting tools, as well (you never know when you might need it) patch and repair supplies! Under the Ace Project Place tab you’ll find a Home Improvement section which includes holiday decorating tips, like how to repair holiday lights or how to keep a real Christmas tree green! Also under that tab are recipes for grilling! They also have tips and advice on preventing kitchen faucet leaks and other plumbing issues!
Graber’s Ace Hardware, located at 319 N. Main, is open Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m., and on Sunday noon until 5 p.m. On the Graber’s Ace Hardware Facebook page you can keep up on weekly specials and also see what new items have been added to their gift shop area.
