Member Spotlight – K-State Research & Extension
This week’s Chamber Connections was hosted by the Kansas State Extension Office in McPherson County. Their full name is the Kansas State University Agricultural Experiment Station and Cooperative Extension Service. The extension offers a wide variety of services. Some of their main areas of focus are families, sustainable food and land, community, youth, and the local economic environment. The Extension Office has a number of programs that help them to strive and reach their goals. One area that may be familiar to most is the sponsorship of 4-H.
4-H is a free opportunity for youth ages 5-18 to get involved with the community, learn valuable life and leadership skills. The Extension Office also works with sustainable foods and livestock. Their research and resources are extremely helpful to local farmers and ranchers of McPherson County. If you need to know anything about health, family, lawn and garden, livestock and crops, local community and economic development and youth enrichment programs check out K-State Research and Extension Office!
