Member Spotlight- MPNaz Church
You’re Invited, come as you are to MPNaz worship each Sunday at 10:45 a.m. or Night Worship at 7:00 p.m. on the third Saturday of each month. Jeff Black, pastor at MPNaz, said he and his wife were called to come to McPherson after graduating from Seminary. The MPNaz Church at 1455 N. Main welcomes everyone and seeks to “reach the lost.” One way they have reached out, is through the Facebook Page: Public Right to Know. Pastor Jeff said, “Who needs Jesus more than those that complain?” He spoke of the word Nazarene referenced in the Bible John 1:46 “Can any good thing come from Nazareth?” Absolutely- Jesus came from Nazareth! Pastor Jeff said that the Nazarene church was “kind of founded on pulling people out of addiction.” In a MPNaz handout provided to the Chamber Connection attendees, it stated “We want to make sure that you feel loved and that you are welcome here no matter your past, your present, or even your future.”
Pastor Jeff and Danielle are full of ideas and are very enthusiast about current and future projects they would like to implement. Have you heard of The Hangout, the new community teen center at the MPNaz Church? The Hangout is open on the third Saturday of each month from 9:00 p.m. to midnight for all youth in grades 6-12th. Pastor Jeff said there is no preaching at the teen center, just adult supervision aka positive role models. It is a place to just hang out, play pool, Wii games, board games, and lots of other fun stuff, plus there are snacks too. Get on board before the Teen Back 2 School Bash on August 10th from 5-8 p.m. when MPNaz plans to give out the school supplies they have collected and hope to offer free haircuts along with sports physicals.
You know the saying “give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime?” The MPNaz Church plans to implement Empower Mac, offering free classes to teach and equip people how to make a budget, how to cook on a budget and more. Another vision and work in progress for MPNaz Church is Naz Nights that will be a family friendly evening with local bands.
