Member Spotlight- PrairieLand Partners

PrairieLand Partners is a John Deere dealership serving central and southeast Kansas, with a strong focus on helping farmers, landowners, and businesses keep their equipment working at its best.

At the McPherson location, Store Manager Greg Lackey says the dealership’s identity is closely tied to the customers it serves. “We’re a John Deere dealership- that’s who and what we are,” Lackey said. “The customer base we deal with is one with the most genuine, real people in the world.” PrairieLand Partners offers a comprehensive selection of new and used equipment, including tractors, combines, balers, planters, sprayers, forage harvesters and lawn mowers. Customers can also find parts, tools, STIHL equipment, John Deere apparel, and a fun selection of toys, including LEGO Technic kits, games, books, and toy tractors.

PrairieLand Partners has continued to grow while expanding the resources available to its customers. Lackey explained that the company recently merged with AgriVision Equipment, a John Deere dealership group from Iowa. “That took us from 15 PrairieLand stores to 31 total stores,” he said. “That was a great opportunity for us to expand our footprint.” He noted that the larger organization provides increased inventory levels and buying power, along with additional support for customers. The McPherson store is what Lackey described as a “marquee location” for the PrairieLand division, employing around 40 people across its shop, parts and sales teams while also housing members of the company’s senior leadership. Customers can also take advantage of a remote support system that Lackey says can be especially valuable when farmers are out working. “If you’re out working and you have issues, you can call in and get the support help you need without having to have a technician do a service call,” he said. That customer-focused approach is complemented by knowledgeable technicians and support staff dedicated to keeping equipment running efficiently.

Technology is another important part of PrairieLand Partners’ commitment to agriculture, and Lackey says the pace of innovation is remarkable. One example is John Deere’s See & Spray technology, which uses cameras to identify weeds and spray only where needed. “The pace – what technology is doing in agriculture is incredible,” Lackey said. “It’s a sprayer unit [with] a 120-foot boom that has cameras on it, and it goes through the field at 12 to 15 miles an hour only spraying the weeds.” He also emphasized that farmers don’t necessarily have to purchase brand-new equipment to take advantage of new technology. “All of the technology Deere has come out with – they’re also coming out with the ability to put that same technology on older equipment,” he said, explaining that a See & Spray system can be purchased as a kit and installed on an existing sprayer. Whether you need a major piece of farm equipment, a small washer or bolt, a front loader, a forage harvester, lawn and outdoor equipment, or a John Deere gift for someone in the family, PrairieLand Partners aims to provide the equipment and support customers need. Customers can visit the store at 2401 E. Northview Road, call 620-241-3553, or browse the available inventory online. Photos from Chamber Connections hosted by PrairieLand Partners can be seen here.
