Member Spotlight – Rosie’s on Main

About 35 Chamber members gathered for Chamber Connections at Rosie’s on Main, 110 S. Main, Thursday, June 29th.

One’s first thought upon walking into the event venue is that it looks like a photographer’s dream. That’s because it is! The dream, that is, of photographer Julie Johnson, who decided to combine her passions for photography and event planning into one unique business in the heart of McPherson.

The spot formerly known as Julie Johnson Studio and Event Center was rebranded as Rosie’s on Main in early 2022. Julie said she wanted ‘Rose’ in the name for its elegance but still wanted something catchy and youthful. She also wanted to incorporate Main Street because it’s such a vital part of McPherson. When someone on her team suggested ‘Rosie,’ she knew Rosie on Main Street was perfect.

As a whole, the venue is elegant and eclectic because it’s composed of multiple serene photographic opportunities. The advantage to this, said Julie, is there’s very little need to decorate for events. Plus there are multiple spaces to get beautiful photos of your special day.

A digital photo booth was a fun attraction for Chamber members as it surely is at any event. Step into the booth, don a prop or two from the many provided, let the photos snap, and have them texted to your phone. Such fun!

Julie and Carlyn Lemon, her event manager, open the venue to the public for baby and bridal showers, birthday parties, retirement parties, class reunions, and more. They have the capacity to seat 60 people and have a kitchenette for preparations.

In addition to hosting events for the public, Rosie’s on Main holds its own events for children and adults alike. In recent months they’ve had an Adult Prom, a Mother’s Day gift basket event, and a Little Sweethearts Ball. Coming up July 29th is a Superheroes and Sidekicks Brunch. Julie is also planning a Sober Saturday soon so people can come out and enjoy live music without having to go to a bar or somewhere people are drinking.

Julie also has Rosie’s on Iron in Salina, which hosted its grand opening May 26th.
