Member Spotlight – Stanion Wholesale Electric
Stanion Wholesale Electric Co. is an independent wholesale electric distributor serving the state of Kansas and the surrounding states. Stanion was founded in June of 1961 when Bobbe and Jud Stanion purchased an electrical repair and supply business from a local businessman, Charlie Grassman.
Stanion began by selling to just contractors and business-to-business, but have decided to be the electrical provider for residential customers as well.
Currently the company operates 17 branch locations in Kansas and one in Liberty, MO and maintains its headquarters in Pratt, KS. The company currently has about 200 employees across the corporation. The ownership and employees of Stanion Wholesale Electric Co. are proud to operate as a family owned independent electrical distributor. The company operates with conservative values, small town work ethic, and an urgency to serve its employees, customers and vendors.
The McPherson branch was opened in 1985. Jay Pavlik (second from the left) began his wholesale electrical career in 1986, working in the warehouse in the Pratt branch. He became the branch manager of the McPherson branch in 1993. The McPherson branch has all your electrical needs as well as a full lineup of Milwaukee and Klein tools.
John Keller (left) shared about the community involvement that each store is involved with. Their big partnership is with the Special Olympics of Kansas. The Stanion Wholesale Electric Co. Charity Golf Classic had been held nearly every year since 2000 as a fund raising event. Since inception, the Charity Golf Classic has raised more than $1,000,000 for the benefit of SOKS and is already significantly into raising the second $1,000,000.
