Member Spotlight-The Cedars
The Cedars recently welcomed Chamber Connections attendees to celebrate the reopening of Cedar Ridge Houses 805 and 807, offering guests a first look at the newly renovated spaces before residents move in this September. The extensive renovations will add 28 additional beds, with 14 in each house, helping meet the growing need for senior living services in the community.
Senior Living Advisor Austin Russell greeted visitors and shared the excitement surrounding the project, saying the event provided a “sneak peek” of the refreshed homes before they officially open.
The remodeled houses feature bright, spacious common areas and comfortable resident rooms designed to create a warm, home-like atmosphere.
Executive Director Amy Bennett explained that the reopening is especially meaningful as The Cedars celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Cedar Ridge Houses. Renovations included fresh paint and décor throughout the common areas, new furniture for resident rooms, updated tiled bathrooms, and improvements to the kitchen that will allow meals to be served hot and fresh using new steam tables. Bennett also highlighted the expansion of the activities program, with dedicated staff serving all four Cedar Ridge Houses to provide even more opportunities for resident engagement. Looking ahead, The Cedars also plans to renovate Houses 801 and 803 while opening a high-functioning memory care neighborhood at its Cedar Point location to address an important community need.
The renovated Cedar Ridge Houses offer primarily private rooms with private bathrooms, while encouraging residents to personalize their living spaces by bringing their own furnishings and belongings. Residents also enjoy the inviting gathering spaces, including a spacious dining area, a welcoming commons room with a piano, and a scenic outdoor patio overlooking the pond. The houses are staffed around the clock and also provide short-term rehabilitation services for those transitioning from the hospital before returning home. With these updates, The Cedars continues its commitment to providing quality care, expanded services, and a comfortable environment where residents can truly feel at home.
