Go McPherson seeks Director of Community Recruitment
Go McPherson, Inc and McPherson Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, who will be responsible for the marketing and recruiting of potential employees and residents for McPherson and the surrounding area of McPherson County, Kansas.
Specific job responsibilities will include: the initiation and handling of personal contacts, inquiries, responses and follow-ups with prospective residents and employees; maintain, optimize and utilize Go McPherson website and other internet and social media for marketing purposes; engage in direct in-person marketing and contacts in surrounding area; coordinate traditional media marketing; provide recruitment assistance for local employer recruitment; develop and maintain relationships with local employers, city and county government, and other economic development agencies and partners; and track efforts and results obtained.
The ideal candidate must be a college graduate; energetic self-starter with excellent verbal, written and sales-related skills; able to relate well with the target audience of 25-40 year olds; comfortable with technology, including Microsoft Professional Office, social network use and website management; and willing to engage in raising funds for the various marketing programs and efforts.
The Director will work closely with and directly report to the Executive Director of MIDC. Performance of job duties and responsibilities will be directed by the board of Go McPherson, Inc., the marketing and community development partner of MIDC.
McPherson has recently been named a “Competitive-Ready” city, and this position of Director of Community Recruitment has been developed in conjunction with a wide-ranging and comprehensive Economic Development Strategic Action Plan developed by MIDC in the past few months. The position also is a major part of the McPherson Marketing and Recruiting Plan recently developed by Go McPherson, Inc.
