Something’s Bubbling Up Downtown
College Night: #McPhersonWelcomesYou
We had a great time visiting students at Central Christian and McPherson Colleges last week and building excitement for College Night: #McPhersonWelcomesYou on Friday, September 11. There were lots of “LET’S GOOOOOs!” as they learned the event is just for college students.
Now we need your help welcoming college students to our amazing downtown. We encourage downtown businesses to stay open from 5:00-7:00 pm as students from McPherson College, Central Christian College, Hutchinson Community College-McPherson Campus, and Bethany College participate in a downtown scavenger hunt that will bring them into local businesses, and introduce them to the shops, restaurants, services, and experiences that make McPherson unique.
We’re also looking for businesses to:
• Offer discounts, giveaways, or food and drink specials
• Donate gift cards or prizes for student drawings
• Share a special promotion we can help publicize
All participating businesses, extended hours, donors, and specials will be featured on the event page linked through our QR code marketing materials.
More than just a fun evening, with several hundred students expected to attend, this is a great opportunity to showcase your business, and help college students feel connected to our community. By creating a welcoming experience, we can encourage them to shop local, engage with local organizations, and make McPherson feel like home during their college years.

- Dunk Tank | 6:00-8:00 p.m.
- Foam Party | 8:00-9:00 p.m.
