Your Vote Matters: Get to Know the Candidates
Join us to hear directly from the candidates for McPherson County Commission at the McPherson Chamber of Commerce Civic Awareness Committee’s Candidate Forum on Thursday, July 30th from 7-8 p.m. at the American Legion, 401 N. Main, McPherson. This question-and-answer forum is a great opportunity to learn more about the candidates before Election Day.
The forum will feature a question-and-answer format rather than a debate. Each candidate will begin with a three-minute opening statement, sharing their background, qualifications, and reasons for seeking office. Audience members will have the opportunity to submit written questions as they arrive. Questions will be reviewed for duplication, legibility, and appropriateness for all candidates, with each candidate given one minute to respond.
All candidates who filed for the two open County Commission seats have been invited to participate, including Keith Becker and Stephen Gray, who are seeking the district 1 seat, and Tom Keuser, who is running unopposed for the district 2 position.
As part of its commitment to fostering an informed community, the McPherson Chamber of Commerce has hosted candidate forums for many years. While the Chamber does not endorse candidates or political parties, it is proud to provide a respectful, nonpartisan forum where candidates can share their views and community members can make informed voting decisions.
