Join the Ride – McPherson Bike Share
McPherson is gearing up for a transformative step forward in community wellness and mobility with the launch of a new bike share program in partnership with the McPherson Chamber of Commerce, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas, and Tandem Mobility. This initiative directly supports the transportation needs highlighted in the MCCF benchmarking report and voiced by our local colleges—offering healthy lifestyle options, reliable transportation for non‑drivers, and increased foot traffic for local businesses. With KANCycle providing a fully managed system—including installation, maintenance, GPS tracking, and customer support—we plan to install 2–3 bike racks with five bikes each, ready to roll by early spring. From weekend biking options for families, community bikeathons and wellness events, to bike‑to‑work opportunities and improved access for students and workers, the program opens the door to countless community‑building opportunities.
With BCBS of Kansas investing significantly in this five‑year project, our community’s remaining commitment is $12,000 per year—shared among multiple partners. We’re seeking sponsors who want to help us reach our total goal of $60,000 and be recognized as founding supporters of McPherson’s mobility progress. Sponsorship includes brand visibility on bike rack signage and promotional platforms, along with the chance to champion healthier, more accessible transportation for all.
